A Big Blank Slate
I know alot of painters and I
don't mean the Sherwin Williams kind. They are some of the most
incredibly talented people I know but most carry around canvas
that fit in the back seat of their car. Mine are a little shinnier,
much larger and considerably heavier. The one above is actually
two 10' X 5' driveway gates laid side by side. Rather
intimidating , laying there in their naked glory. The next photo
is of five very large panels that will be part of the same project in
the Keys. Blank slates invite obvious analogies, my favorite being a
brand new beginning. I actually get a little tingley looking at that
lovely, lonely blank slate. It's a chance to create something
wonderous with my own two hands. I love getting lost in that process. I
love my job. I'll keep you updated on the progress. The last photo is
the look that's waiting for me by the front door everytime I come home
from a road trip. I love my dog, guilty looks and all.
