I've been taking painting classes at the local college. Don't worry, I'm not switching mediums. I just felt like I should try to challenge myself and try something I've never done before. I liken each week to taking a drill and blasting a series of small holes in my brain. It's painful, humbling, frightening and exillerating all at the same time. Basically my theory is that the attempts to teach my poor, old brain some new tricks is forcing little holes to develop so the new knowledge can seep through. The pleasant surprise is that once you open up a new hole, other new things can't help but seep through as well. I think all that seepage is showing up in my day to day work. So, here's to new holes in all our brains, maximum seepage in our everyday lives and old dogs learning a few new tricks.
